Every semester since North Dakota transitioned to Division I in 2008-09, student-athletes have achieved a collective GPA higher than a 3.0. This fall, two-thirds of Fighting Hawks student-athletes received GPAs of 3.0 or higher, according to data released by the UND Athletics Academic Services office.
The collective GPA for student-athletes this fall was 3.129. Of the 242 student-athletes who achieved a 3.0 or higher, 36 percent had at least a 3.5 and 15 percent had a perfect 4.0.
“It never gets old complimenting our student-athletes on their awesome work in the classroom. It’s a team effort from staff, coaches and student-athletes, but the student-athletes have to earn it and dedicate themselves to succeeding academically.” – Amanda Hajdu, Assistant Athletics Director for Academic Services
